Early Struggle Obsessive

Definition

The least you need to know

An Early Struggle Obsessive is a founder addicted to the first stage of the Lifecycle who cannot get out of it. The whole point of a startup is to stop being one, by finding a profitable, sustainable market or dying in the attempt, but the ESO never makes that exit because the pull to stay is emotional, not financial. The pattern repeats: they draw partners in, drain the resources, then move on to the next. Getting involved with one is expensive in time, money, and energy, and ultimately futile.
