Big Dogs
Definition
The least you need to know
Big Dogs are the high-performing salespeople and hard-charging Operators who rise to the center of an organization's power base during the Fun stage by delivering the sales revenue a young organization cannot survive without. That revenue earns them the ready ear of the boss and outsized influence, and the biggest of them build sweat equity the company repays later. Their rise is needed for growth, but it seeds a future barrier: in Whitewater they lobby for a return to simpler Fun and resist the systems the organization now needs.
