Heroic Leadership
Definition
The least you need to know
Heroic leadership is how a young organization gets things done: say yes to everything, then scramble to deliver, succeeding through sheer force of will. Titles are irrelevant; doing what needs doing is what counts. It works in Early Struggle and Fun because one person or a small group holds all the information needed to decide fast and implement fast. It is effective but not efficient, and it does not scale, which is why it breaks down when complexity arrives at Whitewater.
