The Maintenance Imperatives are the three things an organization focuses on to stay in Predictable Success once it has arrived: Institutionalizing Innovation, Navigating Key Transitions, and Ownership and Self-Accountability. The work is to install and then actively maintain two balancing sets of systems and processes, then institutionalize innovation and risk-taking across the whole organization so the entrepreneurial spark no longer rests on a few key people. They are a deliberate set of three, distinct from the Recovery Imperatives that pull an organization back from Treadmill.
