Cross-Functionality is the third of the six growth imperatives on the left side of the Scalability Matrix, the work that moves an organization out of Whitewater toward Predictable Success. It is the ability to work across functions and between silos, at all levels, in a natural way, without anyone having to be told. Cross-functional teams are a useful first step, but the real goal is a culture where people work across silos by default. It builds on Org Chart and Lateral Management.
