The Alignment Pyramid is the operating tool of the Alignment Imperative, the picture an organization uses to see whether every action it takes is moving it toward its common goals. It has five strata, from base to apex: Mission, Vision and Values; Goals; Strategies; Tactics; and Actions. Les McKeown teaches it as a train of interlocking cogwheels, where alignment is the state in which every cog stays connected and you can trace any action all the way down to mission, vision, and values.
